[vsnet-alert 1760] Possible SN in M96

Dear Colleagues,
folowing the message sent by Dr. Skiff, I have taken several images of
M96. The suspected object is there. I report the following data
(astrometry and photometry).
All the data are based on the USNO A1.0.
unfiltered CCD (assumed to peak in the R band);
19980510.821 (UT) 126R
Position (J2000):
R.A. 10h46m46.01s Decl. +11d50'07.5''
