[vsnet-alert 1357] Nova in NGC 205

IAUC No. 6777 tells the discovery of a nova in NGC 205 by the Beijing
Astronomical Observatory team. The nova has been spectroscopically confirmed
to be a nova after maximum.

   00h 40m 23s.26 (J2000.0)
   +41o 43' 27".0

         N

   Reported magnitudes (unfiltered CCD):

   1997 Nov. 4 invisible
             21.54 18.8
             22.50 18.4
             23.44 18.5

The spectrum described in IAUC No. 6777 seems to suggest the nova is in
the early decline stage of an slow nova. Follow-up observations (CCD
photometry etc.) are encouraged.

In reporting to vsnet-obs using the recommended format, use the name
NGC205nova1997 in the first column.
