[vsnet-alert 1176] Rare outburst of WX Cet

WX Cet

As reported in [vsnet-alert 1175], Rod Stubbings detected a rare outburst
of WX Cet. WX Cet was last observed in outburst in 1996 July, when the
object stayed in superoutburst for about 15 days, followed by a short
post-outburst rebrightening. This outburst was very intensively observed
both by visual and CCD, providing rich information of superhumps in this
short orbital period system.

Characterisitic of (single) normal (short) outbursts of WX Cet are very
little known. According to the VSOLJ database, the only likely normal
outburst was in 1989 December:

  891205.504 142: (M. Iida)
  891205.532 <132 (M. Koshiro)

Observations, esp. high-speed photometry, are strongly recommended during
the present rare faint outburst, in order to test the existence of "hump"
features.
