Dear nova-fans,
The slow nova Nova Cas 1995 has shown three distinct brightenings
up to now:
date of maximum mv
-----------------------
1995 Dec 15 6.9
1996 Feb 17 7.7
1996 Apr 11 8.1
Thanks to the very recent post by B. H. Granslo (vsnet-obs 2927, Nova
Cassiopeiae 1995 - NAS.VSS Photometry Update No. 10), the sharpness of
the third mini-outburst has now been depicted. Although I am not aware
of any physical explanation, it should be noted that these mini-outbursts
were almost equally separated by two-month intervals. Since two months have
passed since the last mini-outburst, it would be interesting to see whether
any mechanism may be pushing another such phenomenon. The real-time light
curve and additional information of Nova Cas 1995 can be found on the VSNET
Home Page (http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/).
Regards,
Taichi Kato
