- Subject: [vsnet-alert 2] Outburst of EF Peg
Dear Colleagues,
Patrick Schmeer reports an outburst of EF Peg, which
has been confirmed by G. Poyner.
Jan 05.732UT <13.0 P. Schmeer 20cm SCT Seq. TA
11.726 11.1 Schmeer
11.743 11.1 G.Poyner 40cm Seq. TA
This object is on the recurrent objects programme of
the UK Nova/Supernova patrol.
Two previous outbursts have been recorded; 1991 Oct
14th and 1992 July 7th. An unconfirmed outburst
was also reported on March 30th 1993.
The TA chart dated 880515 notes that care should be
taken when observing this star, as a close companion
star (~mv13.0) approx. 5 arc secs. in PA 305 is
present.
Further visual and photometric observations are
desirable.
Best Regards,
Gary Poyner
