Hello Kato,
I have been in e-mail contact with Gary Poyner. He can't confirm my
observation of a brightening of BC UMa. Odd, because I actually observed the
star twice (to be sure) with 3 hour in between and saw the star at both
occasions. Maybe my magnitude estimate is wrong (or have only dreamt that I
saw the star). Have you any other reports of a brighening?
