        ***** VARIABLE STAR OBSERVATIONS - REPORT OF 1994 MAY 2 *****

   This report contains recent visual observations of selected variables
   by members of NAS.VSS. Observations are reported in full and the time
   system is Universal Time. Contributing observers: Haakon Dahle (Oslo,
   Norway); Bjorn H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norway); Andreas Lauvstad
   (Levanger, Norway).

   These observations indicate that a full fade has taken place and it is
   now nearly as faint that it was during the autumn of 1992.
   Comparison stars (sequence TA/AAVSO): 5 = 10.4; 6 = 11.6; 7 = 11.8;
   8 = 12.5; 9 = 12.9.

   This dwarf nova is currently in one of its rare superoutbursts.
   Comparison stars (sequence AAVSO): G = 11.7; H = 12.1; J = 12.3;
   L = 12.7.

   Magnitudes are calculated from the fractional method or Pogson's step
   method. CL = class: estimated accuracy of observation; 1 = good
   (+/- 0.1 mag.), 2 = fair (+/- 0.2), 3 = poor (+/- 0.3). Instrument
   (aperture in mm): C = Schmidt-Cassegrain, M = Newtonian reflector.

   It should be noted that there is a need to improve the sequences of
   these stars. Observations of supernovae and classical novae will be
   sent in separate reports.

                                              Yours sincerely,
                                              Bjorn H. Granslo
