NOVA OPHIUCHI 1994

Below is a preliminary reduction of differential photoelectric photometry
obtained by Pam Kilmartin with the 0.6-m f/13 reflector at Mt John in
excellent sky conditions. Uncertainty about 0.02 in each colour except U-B
where the error may be 0.05 (probably too red).

We have adopted nearby stars as comparison and check. Positions and
preliminary magnitudes reductions are as follows:

             SAO R.A. (1950) Dec.
                     h m s o ' V U-B B-V V-Rc V-Ic

Check - 17 32.7 -19 52 8.90 +0.15 +0.30 +0.20 +0.43

The comparison is about 20' westnorthwest of the nova and is the brighter
and more distant of two stars aligned with the nova. The check is about
35' south of the nova. These stars have not been checked in other
catalogues or databases.
