Probable Nova Oph 1994
It became evident that the above mentioned object had been independently
discovered by Akihiko Tago on June 1. The reality of the object thus
seems to be established.
Yoshio Kushida provides the following precise position.
17h 35m 44s.61
-19 19 34.1 (2000.0)
Kushida estimated the magnitude of this object as 7.9 from a photograph
taken on June 3. Judging from this report, the nova (now I'd like to call
it so) may have already passed its optical maximum.
The details of the above observation have already been transmitted to
the IAU CBAT via S. Nakano.
