Rare outburst of QY Per

According to J. Pietz ( vsnet-obs 4521), the dwarf nova QY Per is undergoing a rare outburst as indicated by the following observations.

1996 Dec. 07.88 UT 14.3 (J. Pietz)

The latest outburst occurred on 1995 Aug. 21 (T. Vanmunster).

The following information is from vsnet-obs 991 (1995 Aug. 24):

The "true" QY Per is at 03h 15m 36s.82 +42o 28' 13".8 (J2000.0) as measured by N. James during the 1994 outburst. Note that the candidate in Downes and Shara (1993) is too far to the SE. The VSNET chart service (ftp/WWW) provides a chart corrected for this position.

Look for what's happening, with your telescope defrosted for EG Cnc!
