The long-period SS Cyg-type dwarf nova CH UMa is undergoing a major outburst as indicated by the following observations.
1996 Nov. 20.960 13.6 G. Poyner 21.042 13.5 G. Poyner 21.085 13.5 G. Poyner 22.7472 12.9 M. Westlund
This dwarf nova is unique in that it usually shows a very slow rise to maximum -- probably due to its long orbital period. Some of bright outbursts may reach V ~ 11.
Gradual rise and rapid decline characterize the long outburst of
this dwarf nova.
